Wonky Log Cabin

The ' wonky ' log cabin quilt for my daughter is ready. It is machine sewn and machine quilted. I did a meandering in the log cabin part and a kind of freehand swirl in the border.

6x8 :) for # 027

Yesterday I finished sewing the raw blocks. Here are 6 piles of 8 blocks.
Today I shall cut them straight into 9 1/2 "squares and hopefully start to sew them together.
To be continued ....
Do you see the striped shirt, the beige kitchen curtains with a little pink flower and 3 blue blouses and a blue skirt? just click on the photo!
PS . I like the freestyle sewing :-))

start

I have made a start with sewing blocks from the fabrics shown here.
Not easy to sew 'wonky' for a 'sane' quilter over 20 years.
But it feels very liberated ;-))
I have sewn 30 blocks now, 18 to go!
The quilt is for DD2 to use on the couch in her living room. I have cut up all the beige I found in my stash, included old kitchen curtains and a shirt. Turquoise for an accent from 2 blouses and one skirt. I am sewing 027 Roman Stripes.

Looking forward to start

Hi all, my name is Ati, I am from the Netherlands but I live in Norway. I am looking forward to start with an unusual Amish quilt and add letters too, which is totally new for me. About 20 years ago I made an Amish quilt "sunshine and shadow". Pieced by machine and quilted by hand. You see a detail photo of it above and HERE is the whole quilt and HERE the back were you can see the quilting very good.
These days I cannot longer quilt such a big quilt by hand but machine quilting can also be nice.
I looked at the photos of the Brown collection and I was switching between the 027 Roman stripes and the 105 Crazy quilt , because I made many crazy quilts the last 5 years.
However I decided to start with the 027 Roman stripes, the quilt will be for my daughter to use on the sofa in her living room.
The fabrics are washed and are ready to be cut up :)
