Erin here. I thought I should show some of my quilt in progress -- well at least the words -- before I get the top together. I worked on the words first to be sure that the center of my quilt would be big enough for all the words. I was going to put "Tutti Fruitti," my name, town/state and Liberated Amish 2010 in the borders, but as you can see I changed my mind.
The only thing I might change is the "r" in mandarin. Otherwise, I'm quite pleased with them -- even plum and blueberry which are a little dark against the black. They will be like a surprise in the borders you'll notice when you're close enough to read them.

Wow! Great job on the letters. I wouldn't change a thing!
Love this idea.......the colors matching the fruit color, and your execution of the letters is delightful...I look forward to seeing it all come together.
Happy Sewing
great idea, and great colours. where did you find those solids in those great shades?
Thank you everyone for your encouraging comments. I did fix the "r" in mandarin.
Brenda, the fabric is from Michael Miller's Krystal collection. It has a mottled look to it.
OMG, I haven't attempted my letters yet and here you have all these words. I keep posting the same comment...sorry folks. You've done a fantastic job! Can't wait to see what the middle is going to look like.
Lovely idea, look forward to see more of your progress...
