Fractured and fabulous

Well, here is the sliced and re-made number. It weighs a ton, waves like the Queen on Christmas morning and I will have to quilt it down ferociously before it even looks remotely square .... but I like it! The very strong horizontal isn't great, but I couldn't find a way to avoid it with the pieces that I had. Now on with the hand quilting! Straight lines I think, so that some exist on it, somewhere.

And Tonya, you have created a monster. I made a liberated chinese coin top this week because I felt like playing with scraps and when I reached the outer border I said to myself "You know what this quilt needs? Words! LOTS OF WORDS!!" What have I become???

I'm so glad you cut up your quilt. Your top looks great. I bet you had fun playing with all the possibilities.

You know what will fix that horizontal line? Applique a couple strips across it.

so glad you had fun and played! Is this a quilt to be used or for the wall? If the former, how about tying it with bright pink yarn? If the latter, I can see using pink embroidery floss and stemstitching (either just the top or through all three layers as a kind of quilting) something interesting in those big green areas. you could add words or something geometric... anyway, more fun ways to play. Wheee, I wanna see the lib coins quilt!

What have you become?
FREE AT LAST!

I love not having a pattern, rules or even most of the time a clear direction......just let it flow , follow an inspiration, and see what comes.

Happy Sewing

I can say that I honestly didn't think I would like the outcome. I am still clinging to tradition. But I really really like this outcome.

You have opened my eyes a bit further!
