Finally some progress...

I don't have any good excuses... just been  really busy lately.  Here are my first two blocks.  The A and the P are the first letters from an Amish proverb that I love. "A plump wife and a big barn never did any man harm". I figured if I wanted to keep this quilt I better just use the first letters (besides I didn't think I could do 39 letters) otherwise my husband would get embarrassed everytime anyone saw it...

I am pretty happy with my first letters ever. It will be fun to include them in the churcn dashes... then I won't have to figure out where to put them later :)

it's looking great. and its a fun idea to integrate the letters in your blocks. just a small suggestion: put a small black spacer strip between the letter and the border of the churn dash so we can read the letter -- the P is in danger of mushing into the block pattern.

love how you're doing a secret code. that A is wonderful.

Brenda, originally I was going to put the P in the lavender block so it wouldn't have mattered... and when I changed my mind I conceously decided not to add black to it... no one will know what it means but me and you all so it is okay if it mushes a little :)

Thanks Tonya :) My second A is not as fun... but has lots few pieces :)

I love that saying! The letters are great inside the blocks - might you mix colors in the future? when you mentioned that in your reply it sounded really cool!
