What do you think? I'm thinking it needs to either go inside the navy border, or on top and bottom of the crazy patches. I want to get this to throw size (about 50 by 60, so I will need another border after the crazy patches.

More Amish craziness
I've been making more crazy blocks, nearly enough to get around the whole quilt so far. I need to rearrange them a bit for contrast between the bigger and smaller chunks of colour, but you get the idea. I've heard calls for more red from Victoria and Julie, so I've tried putting a strip of red at the top and bottom (only top pictured here) to make it a rectangle.

top and bottom of the crazy patches. break up the solid bits. looking excellent!
I think the red really works, I'd say top and bottom. Fantastic work.
Hmmmmmm
I keep looking at it without the red then comparing it to this picture......I vote for no red unless
you put it all the way around. This is going to be so beautiful.
I actually meant more red in the crazy blocks ... but I think red outside the crazy blocks, allowing them to be an inner border, works really well, too.
Happy stitching!
I like the addition of the red, but I'm thinking maybe outside of the crazy blocks and all the way around? Maybe add some more red to your crazy blocks too. This is gonna be fantastic!
I agree that the solid red is perhaps too deep. A narrower strip and more red in general in the border. So good!
LIke Julie, I would like to see more reds in the crazy patches--how would you feel about making more of those, consciously including red in all of them, then mixing them up with what you have? And you can always add more red b using it as your binding, or a piping/flange inside your binding.
I see fabulous RED in just the scrappy blocks! looks great in the top photo! Happy Playing!
