Quilt Top Done

I finished my quilt top!!!!

As I mentioned before, I made the center "liberated" by varying the sizes of the 36 blocks rather than making them uniform.  The aqua and black stripes are also liberated in that I didn't measure the widths so they vary in size, and they are a little wavy.  This quilt is headed to Montana. The letters I pieced represent our "brand" in Big Sky.

I haven't decided yet how I will quilt this.  I am also wondering what color to use for the binding.  Should I repeat the red or maybe the dark color used for the inner border?

Thank you for the advice on the borders and the letters.  This has been so much fun.  I hope to make another one.  I am enjoying seeing all the great ideas y'all have come up with.

Wow! I loved your last picture of this quilt in progress so much, that I hated to think of you adding anything to it, but this is outstanding! I would repeat the red inner border for the binding -- but you're doing great so far. Go with your instincts!

I love it. I think the plain wide border is exactly right.

This reminds me of a graphic art poster with it's wide blue "mat". I love how everything makes you focus on those colorful bits in the middle. I'd go dark like a thin poster frame.

Woohoo!!! beautiful. I love those letters. Not sure about binding color. Again, I'd have to audition. My inclination would be to something really dark.

Your border fabric works so well, Rene. As does the "font" of your letters. My suggestion would be a dark binding.
I love your quilt!

I'm thinking the same fabric for the binding as the border (blue/gray). I don't like to distract from the central focus. As it is now, it is stunning!!

I just can't believe you are finished already! It's amazing, I just love it. I want to make one of everything that all you talented quilters are posting! What is the finished size of your piece? and what is your quilting plan. Ihave no advice for binding, audition and you will know.

Your quilt is very nice. I really like your wide border. I would bind either 1) the color of your border 2) the dark of your stripes or 3) the color used for your letters. I think the red would draw your eye away from the beautiful center. Once you audition all your choice I'm sure you will choose the correct one. Beautifully graphic!

Spectacular! I loved it before the borders and now I love it even more! My first inclination for the binding was red, but I would audition too. Great job.
