Test #2

ummmm... I think I am a little obsessed. I decided to make a couple more batik blocks. I am still trying to figure out what technique I like best.  I think I have the way  to do the strips. I used that on the second block (the one on the right in this picture). The other way was a little too straight and was actually more work. Come on solids get here already!

I can tell already that I'm going to love your quilt. What color solids are you going to use?

I am actually going to do two. One with Batiks... these and a lot of blue and purple. Then one in solids more traditional Amish. I have blues, lavenders, pinks, reds, and greens for that one. I did throw in a couple hote colors there too... Lime and Salmon....

Your blocks are wonderful. Since you're planning on two quilts, maybe you can give into your obsession and make lots of progress on the batik one while you wait for your fabrics ;-)

ohhhhhh.....two quilts.....that's a good idea! Then I won't have to agonize over which one I want to make!

Luckily these blocks are pretty quick or I wouldn't be able to do two. Turns out my postman didn't ring the bell when he delivered the mail today. My first batch of fabric was on the door step (probably before I made those last two blocks) so 8 of the colors are here. I am waiting for 6 more. My Amish quilt is going to be bed size. I am not sure how big the Batik one will be, maybe just lap size.... or... not :)

Your batik blocks look great. I'm going to make mine with hand dyes as I have had them for a few years and this is a great reason to cut them up!
